Highly Resolved MR Imaging of Arbitrary Subregions in Large Objects by a Whole-Body Imager

چکیده
Highly resolved images of defined regions of interest within extended objects were obtaind with a 1.5 T whole-bode imager and standard hardware. The high-resolution spin echo imaging sequence avoids aliasing and allows pixel resolutions down to 39 pm which are confirmed by phantom measurements. The application of the sequence to large biological objects such as, for example, an amaryllis bulb results in images which provide much detail which could not be resolved with standard sequences.

Recent Advances in PET-MR Hybrid contrast agent
Introduction: All of the Imaging modalities have advantages and disadvantages alone. So if we want to have the best and perfect image, combining these modalities produces something we desired. PET-MR images consist of morphologic and metabolic data. MRI and PET provide high spatial and contrast resolution and high sensitivity and molecular information respectively. Hybrid PET-...
متن کاملDiffusion imaging of the human brain: a new pulse sequence application for a 1.5-T standard MR system.
We developed a new pulse sequence and investigated whether the anisotropic diffusion in the human brain can be detailed with a standard whole-body MR imager. Apparent diffusion coefficient maps were produced by the proposed sequence using a 1.5-T MR unit. The sequence employed simultaneous application of three orthogonal gradients to achieve an optimal signal attenuation for imaging the brain w...
متن کاملDiagnostic dilemma of ectopic pelvic kidney in planar skeletal and renal cortical scintigraphy resolved by SPECT/CT
We present a 55-year old male patient who was subjected to whole body skeletal scintigraphy for metastatic work up of urinary bladder cancer. Whole body 99mTc-methylene diphosphonate (MDP) skeletal scintigraphy was performed. That revealed no skeletal metastasis in the entire body skeleton and normally visualized left kidney with empty right renal fossa. Additionally tracer activity ...
متن کاملStratified mixture modeling for segmentation of white-matter lesions in brain MR images
Accurate characterization of white-matter lesions from magnetic resonance (MR) images has increasing importance for diagnosis and management of treatment of certain neurological diseases, and can be performed in an objective and effective way by automated lesion segmentation. This usually involves modeling the whole-brain MR intensity distribution, however, capturing various sources of MR inten...
متن کاملFluoroscopic MR of the pharynx in patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
PURPOSE The purpose of our study was to introduce an ultrafast MR imaging technique of the pharynx as a diagnostic tool for viewing the mechanism of obstruction in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. METHODS Six healthy volunteers and 16 patients with obstructive sleep apnea were examined on a 1.5-T whole-body imager using a circular polarized head coil. Ultrafast two-dimensional fast low-...
